1. Introduction
NoteSaarthi (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides a notes-first AI study assistant that helps students learn from the notes they upload. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using NoteSaarthi (the “Service”) you agree to this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, and password (or Google sign-in identity).
- Your notes: photos and PDFs of notes you upload, and the text we extract from them (OCR).
- Learning activity: doubts you ask, quizzes you take, and your progress, concept strengths and scores.
- Marketplace content: listings you create, notes you sell or buy, reviews, and reports.
- Payments: subscription and purchase records. Card/UPI details are handled by our payment processor (Razorpay) — we do not store them.
- Support messages: anything you send us through the contact form.
2.2 Collected automatically
- Device and browser information, and basic usage/log data (pages visited, actions, timestamps, IP address).
3. How We Use Your Information
- To read your notes and generate answers, quizzes, formula sheets and other study aids grounded in your own material.
- To track your syllabus coverage, weak/strong concepts and retention scores.
- To power the notes marketplace: AI quality scoring, duplicate detection, search and recommendations.
- To process subscriptions and marketplace payments and pay out seller earnings.
- To maintain, secure and improve the Service, prevent abuse, and provide support.
Your uploaded notes are used to serve you. They are not shared with other users unless you choose to list them on the marketplace.
4. AI Processing & Sub-processors
To generate these results we send the relevant note images/text to trusted AI and infrastructure providers strictly to process your request:
- AI model provider (Azure OpenAI): reading note images, generating answers, quizzes and scoring.
- Vector search (Qdrant): stores numerical embeddings of your notes, isolated per student, to find relevant content.
- Object storage (Cloudflare R2): stores your uploaded images and PDFs.
- Payments (Razorpay): processes subscription and marketplace transactions.
- Google: optional sign-in (subject to Google’s Privacy Policy).
5. Data Storage & Security
- Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit.
- Your notes and vectors are isolated per student account.
- Passwords are stored only as salted hashes; we never see your plain password.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
- Account & notes: kept while your account is active, and deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
- Purchased notes: remain available to the buyer as a read-only notebook.
- Payment records: retained as required by applicable financial/tax regulations.
7. Your Rights
- Access & correction: view and update your profile and notes in your account.
- Deletion: request account and data deletion via our Data Deletion page.
- Marketing: opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
8. Children’s Privacy
NoteSaarthi is intended for students aged 13 and above. Younger students should use it only with a parent or guardian’s consent and supervision. If we learn we have collected data from a child without proper consent, we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the Service or email.
